Man Charged With Driving At Twice Legal Limit After Crash In Area

A 22-year-old Westchester man has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk at more than twice the legal limit after crashing his vehicle in Northern Westchester.

Tye Castle, of White Plains, was arrested around 2:47 a.m., on Sunday, Dec. 15 after Yorktown Police responded to a single-vehicle crash, said the Yorktown Police.

When police arrived on the scene, they found Castle was allegedly drunk and had crashed his vehicle. An alcohol breath test registered at .18 percent, or more than twice the legal limit of 0.8 percent, police said.

During an investigation, officers found Castle was allegedly in possession of a quantity of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, controlled substances, police said.

He was charged with DWI, DWI at twice the legal limit, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and moving from lane unsafely and having an uninspected vehicle. 

Following his arrest, Castle was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 7, 2020.
